How to Take Your Before & After PhotosUpdated a day ago
Taking great before/after photos is easier than you think - and seeing your own progress is one of the most rewarding parts of the collagen journey. Here's how to get the most out of it:
Why should I take a before photo?
Collagen works gradually from the inside out, so changes can happen so slowly that you might not notice them day to day. A before photo gives you a clear, honest starting point so when you look back in 4-8 weeks, you can actually see what your body has been quietly doing all along.
When should I take my before photo?
Take your "before" on Day 1 - ideally before your very first serving. Don't wait until you think you're "ready." The whole point is to capture where you're starting from, not where you want to be. The next best day... is actually today! 😉
What's the best way to take the photo?
- Find consistent lighting. Natural light near a window works best. Avoid harsh overhead lights or flash, which can flatten your skin tone.
- Choose a plain background. A blank wall makes it easy to compare across photos.
- Same angle, every time. Face straight on, and if you're focusing on skin (face, neck, décolletage), keep the camera at eye level.
- No filters, no editing. This one's just for you - the raw photo is the most useful one.
- Same time of day. Mornings tend to work well, before sun exposure or makeup.
What areas should I focus on?
That's totally up to you! Common areas people track with collagen include:
- Skin texture, glow, or fine lines (face & neck)
- Hair thickness or shine
- Nail strength and growth
How often should I take progress photos?
We recommend snapping one every 4 weeks. Set a reminder on your phone now so you don't forget - your future self will thank you.
What if I don't see a difference right away?
That's completely normal and expected. Collagen builds gradually, our customers notice changes as early as week 4, however, some start really seeing the difference by 7-8 weeks. Trust the process, stay consistent, and let your photos do the comparing for you.
What do I do with my photos?
Keep them in a dedicated album on your phone so they're easy to find. If you want to share your journey with us, we'd love to see your results - tag us or send them our way. If you share, your next order is on us!
We celebrate every win, big and small. 🎉
