Is Algae Vitamin D3 safe for kids and babies?Updated a year ago

The NHS recommends that children aged 1 to 10 years should not have more than 50 micrograms (2,000 IU) a day. Infants under 12 months should not have more than 25 micrograms (1,000 IU) a day.

EAP (European Academy of Paediatrics) recommends that all infants, including those who are exclusively breastfed, receive a daily supplement of 400 IU (international units) of vitamin D3 starting soon after birth and continuing throughout childhood. Children who are at risk for vitamin D deficiency or have certain medical conditions may need higher doses of vitamin D3, as recommended by their pediatrician.

However, please bear in mind that children no younger than 5 years old should take softgel supplements due to the risk of choking. Always monitor young children when giving them supplements to swallow. We recommend splitting the softgel in half and mixing it in with your child's food to help them swallow it easier.
