Is it safe to give Omega-3 to kids or babies?Updated a year ago

Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA specifically can be beneficial for children. In infants, DHA can support visual and cognitive development.

While the usual DHA intake among toddlers and children is low, research has shown that supplementation with polyunsaturated fatty acids including DHA can improve cognition and behaviour.

As our dosage amount is 200mg per capsule, we do not recommend giving NothingFishy Omega 3 supplements to babies. Experts recommend 70-100 mg of DHA per day for little ones aged 0-24 months. Breastmilk and many brands of baby formula already contain DHA, so additional supplementation might not be necessary for your child.

Our Omega 3 supplements are a great option for young children and teenagers. For children under 75kg, one capsule a day is sufficient enough. To help them take it, simply split the softgel open and pour it into their drink or meal.

We strictly advise against giving our supplements to young children without splitting them as this can be a choking hazard. Please take sensible precautions
